Job Description:
Sales/promotion/marketing experience in the Book Trade. Creating a positive brand image/awareness of Deepshikha Books in junior schools, play schools, gift shops and bookshops. The candidate will visit play schools, junior schools and bookshops, meet junior school heads and principals to inform them about Deepshikha's product range, and also look out for promising teachers who could become good authors and encourage them to write new books to be published by Deepshikha. Candidates will stay alert to competing publishers' products and strategies so Deepshikha can devise an appropriate marketing strategy.
The candidate will be given a particular area/territory to work in, visiting all schools, play schools and bookshops (small to big), meeting customers, gathering relevant data and sharing it with the immediate senior / as advised by the marketing manager.
Desired Competencies
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of methods involved in presenting, promoting, and selling products or services.
- Basic computer knowledge -- preparing sales presentations, sales letters, promotion through email and WhatsApp.
- English and the regional language.
- A fair idea of local locations/areas.
Skills
- Talking to customers to effectively convey information.
- Judging customer behaviour and moulding the sales pitch accordingly.
- Interacting with customers to ascertain and evaluate their needs and wishes.
- Listening to what the customer is saying and asking questions as appropriate.
- The ability to speak clearly so as to be understandable to a customer.
Attitude
- Sales strategies and tactics, product demonstration and sales techniques.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly in speech.

Experience
Product detailing and presentation; front-line sales or cold-calling sales experience would be an added advantage.
Education
Any Graduate / Under Graduate / Post Graduate, preferably with a marketing background.
